What is the policy for driveway pipes?: The pipe under your driveway is the responsibility of the property owner and is owned by the property owner. Maintenance of the pipe is the responsibility of the property owner. The Township will replace the pipe if the property owner furnishes the correct size pipe.

1. Who do I call for Township road issues?: Call the Township during normal working hours between 7 a.m. - 3 p.m. at 570-278-1373. In case of an emergency, call 570-278-6910 or 570-396-9755.

3. Who do I contact if road issues are not on Township roads?: Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (Penn DOT) is responsible for all state roads in the Township. Their phone number is 570-278-1171. Private roads are the responsibility of the property owner.

4. Does the Township provide garbage service?: No, the Township does not provide garbage service.

5. Does the Township hold a spring clean-up or garbage pick-up and what is accepted?: Bridgewater Township does hold clean-up days once a year, usually after July 4. Items that are accepted include electronics which cannot have broken screens, refrigerators, mattresses, etc. Items not accepted include household garbage, grease, oils, hazardous material, and any liquids. The Township charges for waste tires.

7. Why are big trucks/loads allowed on township roads?: Township roads are for public use. Weight limits can be controlled, however, companies may enter into a maintenance agreement with the Township to exceed these limits and use these roads.

8. Can I get anti-skid from the township stock pile for my driveway?: No, all material is purchased by the Township for use on public roads and must be used for this purpose only.

9. How do I get a sewage permit?: On-lot sewage permits are issued through Susquehanna County Council of Governments (COG) at 570-465-7644. Public sewer permits are issued through Bridgewater Township Municipal Authority (BTMA) at 570-278-7160.
