Payment Policies
Bridgewater Township staff is not permitted or responsible to accept tax payments. Tax payments can only be mailed or submitted directly to the Tax Collector. The Bridgewater Township Tax Collector is an elected official.

Failure to receive your tax bill does not excuse you of your duty to pay taxes that are due. It is your responsibility to insure that all of your taxes are paid.

Please read your tax bill or check the website for the mailing address and/or times and dates to submit payments in person to the tax collector.

Issuance of Tax Bills & Due Dates

County & Municipal Taxes
County and municipal taxes are mailed to the property owners on or about March 1. The 2% discount period ends April 30, the face period ends June 30 and the penalty period begins on July 1 with a 10% penalty added to the face amount.

School Taxes

School taxes are mailed to the property owners on or about July 1. The 2% discount period ends August 31, the face period ends October 31 and the penalty period begins on November 1 with a 10% penalty added to the face amount.

Unpaid Taxes
Unpaid taxes cannot be accepted by the tax collector after December 31. Any unpaid real estate taxes are returned to the Susquehanna Tax Claim Bureau for collection. Payments can be made with cash, check, cashier’s check, or money order. Credit cards are not accepted.

Fees
There is a $10 duplicate fee and a $10 tax certification fee. Any check returned due to insufficient funds has a $12 return check fee.

Payments can be mailed. If they are mailed, they must be postmarked. For example: If you are paying your tax bill at discount, the payment must be postmarked no later than April 30. If it is postmarked after April 30, it cannot be accepted as payment at discount and your payment will be returned to you. This applies to the face and penalty due dates as well.

Mobile Home Movement

Mobile Home Movement Permits are issued by the Tax Collector.

Address Changes

Any change in addresses should be given to the Tax Collector so that she can forward them to the assessment office.
