Fire Hydrant Tax
The Bridgewater Township levies and imposes a uniform annual assessment for costs of providing and maintaining fire hydrants that benefit the property owners whose property is within 780 feet of a fire hydrant. All of these fire hydrants are located in areas of the township where PA American Water provides public water.
Street Light Tax
The Bridgewater Township levies and imposes a uniform annual assessment for costs of street lighting benefited property owners whose property is within 480 feet of a street light. These street lights are located in the village of South Montrose and along State Route 29 south of Montrose Borough.
The street light ordinance was approved by the Board of Supervisors after residents in the affected areas presented a petition to the Board of Supervisors to provide street lights in specific areas of the Bridgewater Township.
Tax Collection
Collection for the fire hydrant and street light assessment is the responsibility of the Township Tax Collector.
