[ARCHIVED] Route 706 Bridge Project over Pettis Creek

Construction Set to Begin for Route 706 Bridge over Pettis Creek in Bridgewater The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation’s (PennDOT) Rapid Bridge Replacement Project continues in Susquehanna County with the start of construction of the Route 706 bridge, spanning Pettis Creek in Bridgewater Township. Replacing this bridge will allow PennDOT to remove it from their structurally deficient list.

Construction is expected to begin during the week of September 26 and will last for about 10 weeks. During this time, drivers will be directed to follow a detour along Route 3029 (Forest Lake Road), Route 29 and Route 706. Temporary traffic signals will be in-place at the intersection of Route 3029 and Route 29. Flaggers will assist with directing traffic along Route 706. The work will be performed by Walsh Construction II.
In the event of unfavorable weather or unforeseen activities, this schedule may change.
This bridge is referred to as JV-149 out of the 558 bridges being replaced under the Rapid Bridge Replacement Project. JV references the joint-venture partnership between Walsh/Granite, which is leading construction for the entire project.
